When using Calcium Booster (Leisure Time) the water became cloudy. -- F054

Since the hardness had decreased to less than 5dH after another measurement, I wanted to increase the hardness with Calcium Booster. Unfortunately the water then became extremely milky and no longer clear (hardness then approx. 8dH). What went wrong?

Answer:
The water hardness could also have been less than 5°dH. This would not have been a problem when using SpaBalancer products because our products do not bring acid into the water which would have to be buffered by the minerals. Calcium Booster (from Leisure Time) is a product that contains minerals. Unfortunately, these minerals convert very quickly into limestone. Mostly already with the addition to the water. Therefore I advise against using such agents. Now you have two possibilities. 1) You lower the pH value slowly over several days until the water is clear again. Then carefully raise the pH to 6.8 again. 2) Change the water.

A tip: For all products that stabilize the pH value, raise it or increase the hardness of the water. For these products a bucket of water should be taken out of the whirlpool. Stir small quantities of the agents into the bucket. Only then add the bucket to the whirlpool. This way you can avoid a lime precipitation with cloudy water.
