Can SpaBalancer water care be used for Nordic wooden barrels - bath tub, bath barrel - with sand filter system? -- F049

We have Nordic wooden barrels (bath tub) with polypropylene inner lining. The hot tubs are heated by a submerged wood stove and we have added a sand filter system and electric heating.

What do you recommend with your water care products? I would like to point out that the HotTubs are used for rental purposes to tourists. Are the products compatible with active oxygen?

In this case, I recommend using Ultrashock alone. And change the water when you have new visitors (tourists). Ultrashock and active oxygen destroy each other. If you use Ultrashock, you don't need any other oxidizer. Ultrashock is much stronger and safer than active oxygen. When refilling, add 50 ml Ultrashock per 1000 litres of water.

Since the Ultrashock degrades faster when heavily soiled, you must measure the Ultrashock content daily with our test strips and add Ultrashock if necessary. The Ultrashock content should always be between 0.6 and 1.5 mg/l. To clean the sand filter, close the valves to the sand filter and switch off the filter pump. Add 100 ml Ultrashock to the sand filter. Allow the Ultrashock to work for at least 12 hours. Then reopen the valves and perform a thorough backwash.

If you notice that the Ultrashock content in the hot tub drops very quickly without use, the sand filter will most likely be contaminated. In this case, either replace the sand or increase the amount of Ultrashock added (double or triple) and extend the exposure time. Do this until the Ultrashock content remains stable for more than three days when the pool is not in use and does not drop by itself.
