Can SpaBalancer be used in a hot tub with salt electrolysis? -- F078

We have a whirlpool with salt electrolysis. Can we use SpaBalancer Basic and UltraShock despite the salt? Or should we even better leave out the salt electrolysis completely?

Answer:
In principle, you can combine SpaBalancer Basic and UltraShock with salt electrolysis. However, the question arises as to whether this is sensible. In salt electrolysis, chlorine is produced from the salt in the water. The chlorine then produces chloramines in your whirlpool water. However, chloramines are harmful to health. The advantage of UltraShock in this case would be that it oxidises the chloramines. In addition, chlorine is very harmful to the skin and dries it out. Finally, electrolysis makes the water corrosive.

For these reasons, we would not recommend the combination of SpaBalancer products and salt electrolysis. The SpaBalancer system care produces a soft, odourless and very skin-friendly water. An additional use of chlorine would not bring about any further improvement in the water quality. However, if you would like to use salt electrolysis additionally for certain reasons, there is no reason why you should not do so. The SpaBalancer products are basically compatible with salt electrolysis.
